GALLERIES

Focussing less on text and more on imagery, this is where I post photographic images from my travels.

Sometimes I explain what, where and when. Sometimes I don't.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. All photographs are taken by me on either an iPhone X or a Nikon D5300.

DREAMLINER

Despite all the chaos going on within the aviation industry at the moment, today saw the very first British Airways Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner delivery arriving at London Heathrow. I tracked her approach on FlightRadar24, and took the following images of her as she came around the Biggin Hill hold in South East London to land.

One of my favourite lenses to use when I'm travelling is my Sigma 10-20mm wide-angle. I've created a gallery of some of my favourite wide-angle shots, showing you more than your regular lens would allow.

MONUMENTS
SCULPTURES
STATUES

I saw a thread on Twitter recently which focussed on monuments and statues from people's travels, and it let me see some very cool images from all across the world. I thought I'd do my own take on that thread here, using my own images of monuments, sculptures and statues that I've seen in the places I've visited.

KOYO

Autumn is my favourite season. So spending some time in Japan, which is one of my favourite countries, during my favourite season was incredible. The colours of the foliage all over the country was breathtaking. We travelled to Japan in late November 2017, taking in Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa and Kyoto.

NEON NIGHTS

Miami Beach is famous the world over for its Art Deco architecture and neon signage, and is a haven for architects, designers, photographers and lovers of classic Americana.

These are some photographs I took way back in 2016 of those icons of design and colour.

PRIDE

I decided that during the current COVID-19 pandemic, instead of travelling or writing extensively about travel, that it would be more appropriate/interesting to put together some galleries. I decided to create those initial sets of galleries in clusters of 16, in 4x4 blocks, based on the original 1978 Gilbert Baker Pride flag colours using images from my travels that I am particularly fond of (for whatever reason) without any explanation or context other than this introductory paragraph.

I hope you enjoy them.
