Why start travel blogging?

Y'know what? I used to loathe flying, and so didn't travel much at all until about seven years ago. Then, for my birthday, my partner booked us a long weekend to Copenhagen. After that, I realised it was all in my head, and that I wanted to see as much of the world as I feasibly could. So I did. And do.

And why start blogging about my travels? Well, why not? Why not write about something I'm passionate about, that I see with my own unique perspective, and giving that information to people who want to see it? So this is what that has evolved into, something I can use to write down my thoughts and feelings about the places I travel to, as well as 'throw back' to places I've been already, before I created this space.

I'll be posting about flights and other avgeek stuff, as well as reviews, recommendations and just general thoughts about the places I see. Another thing I'll focus on is solo travel tips, as a lot of my trips in 2020 are by myself which is a 50/50 mixture of exciting/terrifying.

I don't travel as a job, nor do I work in aviation, so all of this is my own self-funded perspectives and honest thoughts, without influence.

I love photography as much as I love writing, so I've created galleries of images I've taken on my travels which are separate to the main blog posts. My instagram is linked, too. All photographs are by me.

I'm sure it'll evolve and change over time, much like we all do, but this is the starting point.

It's really meant to be a labour of love, about something I similarly love doing. So, I hope people enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
